Important: Target Fraud Alert
Target released an announcement regarding a major security breach of their payment card data. An estimated 40 million credit and debit cards may have been affected by this data breach (for transactions between November 27 and December 15)
We want to assure our members of the following:
We have a robust fraud monitoring system. It helps us to combat fraudulent activity that can arise from a data breach such as this one. If any of our member information has been compromised, we will be notified and contact you immediately.
You can monitor your debit card via Online or Mobile Banking and your VISA credit card via EZcardinfo.com. If there are any unauthorized transactions performed on your card(s), contact us and we will take care of you.
If you would be more comfortable with canceling your current card, call us at 814-487-5714 and we can block the card immediately and discuss procedures for reissue of new cards.
As we continue to monitor the recent Target compromise, we have learned of recent phishing emails related to the Target breach. The emails look like they are from Target and play on the fears of the public that they may have had their card compromised. Please DO NOT OPEN any links that may be included in these emails. Target plans to post any and all emails to their breach related site so its customers will know the difference between valid emails and phishing emails.

VISA SCAM ALERT
A scam was recently discovered and as a precaution, we would like to inform our membership. A member received the following text message, “The credit union center alert…Your card has been deactivated. Call ***-***-****.”
THIS IS NOT FROM C-B-W. When the number is called, the listener is asked to key in their 16 digit card number. DO NOT DO THIS! It’s a phishing scam trying to obtain your personal information.
